Bernie Dodge started it all and has maintained a website with a database of subject based Web Quests for you to use. Bernie Dodge's definition of a webquest is " an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet" (1)Webquests were originally designed to develop problem solving and higher level thinking skills.

How to get started:
Using the one page original template makes creating webquests very easy.
1. click on the original template: http://webquest.org/index-create.php.
2. Save web page to your desktop : File-->save as-->

3. go to the desktop
4. right click on: lesson-template1 document, choose: open with: microsoft word
5. create your webquest by typing in under each category
6. Save as type: web page. ( you will have two pieces: web page and a folder with the same name)
7. Your students can click on the document, and all your links will work, and students will not be able to modify the document.
8. If you need to move the webquest, move both the document and the associated folder.
